The latest week 3-4 outlook from NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center (CPC) for the first half of March shows an expected warm-up across the south-central states but the outlook also calls for below normal temperatures to persist across the northeast. This outlook marks a departure from their earlier forecast which suggested a warm-up for much of the eastern U.S. which is no longer the case in their outlook.

The CPC collects and produces daily and monthly data, time series, and maps for various climate parameters, such as precipitation, temperature, snow cover, and degree days for the United States, Pacific Islands, and other parts of the world. The CPC is part of NOAA’s National Weather Service.
