After a cold snap that brought bone-chilling cold temperatures and frigid wind chill factors, the weather pattern is evolving around much of the U.S. which will bring significantly milder weather to much of the country. While Alaska will see temperatures below-normal and southern Texas will see temperatures near-normal, the balance of the U.S. including Hawaii will see above normal temperatures through to the end of the month.
In the latest NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC) 6-10 temperature outlook, meteorologists there believe the Great Lakes, Mid Atlantic, and northern California areas will likely see above normal temperatures through to the 30th of the month. The same is true throughout Hawaii, where areas around Hilo on the Big Island are especially expected to be above normal.
This warm-up follows a prolonged stormy period that has brought blizzard conditions to the Midwest, light snow events to the Northeast and Mid Atlantic, and below-normal temperatures to portions of the Southeast.
