NJ Jeep Invasion Forecast: Not Bad

by Weatherboy Team Meteorologist - June 15, 2017

WB-Jeep_CMYKbThe latest forecast for the NJ Jeep Invasion event in Wildwood, New Jersey is not bad. While it won’t be three days of sunny, cloud-free days during the event that runs June 16-18, it won’t be a wash-out by any stretch of the imagination either.

A cold front pushed through the region on Wednesday, helping turn of the extreme heat and humidity that rushed into the Mid Atlantic last weekend. While temperatures flirted with 100 in New Jersey earlier this week, temperatures and humidity levels have become much more tolerable. With sea breezes and colder ocean water, conditions in shore communities like Wildwood will even be nicer.

There’s a threat (30%) that an isolated shower or storm may impact Cape May County Friday and Saturday. Outside of that threat of a fast-moving isolated shower or storm,  conditions will allow Jeep enthusiasts attending the event to be topless: the Freedom Panels and Soft Tops can come off/down for the event. While you’ll want to keep cover handy should one of those isolated storms or showers pop-up, odds are greater that it’ll remain dry throughout the event.

WeatherboyJeepInvasionThe New Jersey Jeep Invasion is an annual Jeep-only event held right on the beach in  Wildwood, New Jersey. Hosted right on the beach, in the sand, just a couple hundred feet from the Atlantic Ocean and right next to the iconic 2 mile long Wildwood Boardwalk, with over 300 rides and attractions, the 2017 NJ Jeep Invasion event provides ticket holders with two full days of beach access. In addition to checking-out more than 75 of the industry’s top vendors, guests can take their Jeep through a one-of-a-kind beach obstacle course staffed by Rausch Creek Off-Road Park. While the deadline to buy tickets has passed (June 1), the event is open and free to the public who’d like to walk onto the beach to see the Jeeps, vendors, and ticket holders participating in the activities there; there is no charge to roam the event.

The event also is collecting food for Move for Hunger. Guests that bring in non-perishable food items receive raffle tickets for a big giveaway from event vendors. More details on that charitable endeavor can be seen on the NJ Jeep Invasion website here and on their Facebook wall here.
