National Weather Service Office Evacuated for Hurricane Laura

Based on storm surge forecasts, the National Weather Service office in Lake Charles is forecast to be under 9 feet of water, even though it is so far inland from the coast. Winds can also be so extreme in this area that many, if not most, buildings will be destroyed in the area. Image: Google Maps
