According to the Fort Pierce Police Blotter, a woman is claiming the wind blew a bag of cocaine into her purse.
Police on patrol stopped a vehicle on the 700 block of North 19th Street after seeing it swerving in the roadway last month. As officers approached the vehicle, they detected the smell of pot. Upon closer inspection, bags containing cocaine and marijuana were found in the purse of one of the passengers.
Kennecia Katie Beatrice Posey, 26, of the 2100 block of Southwest Barthel Street in Port St. Lucie said the marijuana was hers, but the cocaine wasn’t. According to the police report, she told police, “I don’t know anything about any cocaine. It’s a windy day, it must have flown through the window and into my purse.”
She was arrested and taken to the county jail. Charged on one felony count of cocaine possession and a misdemeanor count of marijuana possession, she was later released on bond.
