While the Miami, Florida-based National Hurricane Center (NHC) issued its final advisory on what was left with Post-Tropical Cyclone Dalila that had once been a Tropical Storm, they believe another storm will form very soon. According to the latest Tropical Outlook from the NHC, a tropical cyclone may form within the next 48 hours. Should a tropical cyclone develop into a tropical storm, it would be named Erick.
According to the NHC, showers and thunderstorms associated with a broad area of low pressure located offshore the coast of Central America in the Eastern PacificĀ have become a little better organized this morning. Environmental conditions appear conducive for development of this system, and a tropical depression is likely to form in the next day or so, while it moves west-northwestward near the coasts of El Salvador, Guatemala, and southeastern Mexico. The NHC believes the chance of formation is at 90% over the next 48 hours.
“Interests in these locations should monitor the progress of this system,” cautions the National Hurricane Center.
Regardless of development, areas of heavy rain are likely across portions of Central America and southeastern Mexico during the next few days.
