A Tropical Wave is moving off the coast of Africa could slowly develop over time in a relative lull in action in the hurricane basins around North America. While the National Hurricane Center (NHC) doesn’t believe any system will develop this week around the United States, they are closely monitoring this disturbance which has a 20% chance of becoming a tropical cyclone over the next 5 days. Typically, tropical cyclones do not form at this time of the hurricane season that far out in the Atlantic. Atlantic Hurricane Season runs from June through November and systems in the Eastern Atlantic usually don’t blossom for a few more months.
According to the NHC, some development of this system is possible later this week before environmental conditions become unfavorable for development over the weekend.
