Wrong place, wrong time! According to a report filed by the National Weather Service office in Tempe, Arizona on Monday, a strong gust of wind blew a beehive off of a tree and onto a woman’s head as she walked by. The wind-driven mishap caused “numerous stings”, according to the report. Wind speed estimated from weather RADAR and nearby reports pegs the unfortunate gust at about 45mph.
The woman, who didn’t wish to be identified, described the incident to local media. “Walking up to the house and with my wonderful luck, the second I got out of my car and walk under it, it falls on my head,” she said. “Yes, it fell directly on my head. I heard it explode on my head.” She was stung on her head, shoulders, arms and fingers. She rushed into her house to take a Benadryl and shower before being taken to the hospital to have her injuries checked out.
Firefighters that responded to the scene sprayed the area with foam to disperse the bees.
