State media in China is reporting a mysterious unidentified flying object (UFO) flying over eastern China’s Shandong Province and is warning people in the area to “stay safe” as officials prepare to shoot it down. According to The Global Times, an English media outlet run by China, local maritime authorities on Sunday said that they had spotted an unidentified flying object in waters near the coastal city of Rizhao in the province and were preparing to shoot it down, reminding fishermen to be safe via messages. Outside of this Chinese government report, there is no other third party confirmation of this incident and/or if it is ongoing.
There has been an abundance of UFO chatter in recent days as the United States took to the skies to shoot-down foreign aircraft over its airspace for the first time since the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 7, 1941. As of press time, the United States shot down three suspicious aircrafts around North America over the last week.
The first, shot down off the coast of South Carolina last Saturday, is reported to be a spy craft from China according to U.S. military sources. China, meanwhile, continues to claim it was a civilian weather observing balloon. That object, confirmed to be an inflated balloon, was carrying a large instrument structure which the Pentagon described as the size of a regional jet aircraft.
On Friday, U.S. shot down another UFO over Alaska. According to White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, the mystery object was flying at an altitude of about 40,000 feet; the object was roughly the size of a small car. Based on its altitude, Kirby said the object posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flights. The government hasn’t released much news about this incident other than to say it was the size of a small car, cylindrical in nature, gray or silverish in color, had no visible propulsion system, and appeared to be unmanned.
“I ordered the take down of an unidentified object that violated Canadian airspace. [NORAD] shot down the object over the Yukon. Canadian and U.S. aircraft were scrambled, and a U.S. F-22 successfully fired at the object,” Trudeau said in a statement on Twitter. He added, “I spoke with President Biden this afternoon. Canadian Forces will now recover and analyze the wreckage of the object. Thank you to NORAD for keeping the watch over North America.”
Few details have been released about that UFO other than it was similar to size and shape of the small car-sized UFO shot down over Alaska the day before.
A confusing incident also occurred yesterday over airspace in Montana. In a statement released by North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command, officials said, “With the cooperation of the Federal Aviation Administration, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) implemented a temporary flight restriction airspace in central Montana on February 11, 2023 to ensure the safety of air traffic in the area during NORAD operations. The restriction has been lifted.” They added, “NORAD detected a radar anomaly and sent fighter aircraft to investigate. Those aircraft did not identify any object to correlate to the radar hits. NORAD will continue to monitor the situation.”
Weather RADAR in the area did show a large object in the airspace in question in Montana, but no officials have discussed with confidence what the RADAR return was reflecting.
