The National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida is monitoring a weather disturbance located near the Sunshine State that could develop into a tropical cyclone, although the odds of it becoming one remain low.
“An area of low pressure is expected to form during the weekend over the northeastern Gulf of America,” says the National Hurricane Center in their latest tropical outlook.” Subsequent slow development of this system is possible while it moves slowly northeastward over the northeastern Gulf and or near the southeastern coast of the United States by early next week.”

However, the odds of formation are low; the National Hurricane Center says formation chances are near 0 percent for the next 48 hours and only increase to 20% over the next 7 days.
The National Hurricane Center says there is no other area of concern in the Atlantic Hurricane Basin and no other tropical cyclone is expected to form over the next 7 days.
The Atlantic Hurricane Season runs through to the end of November.
