New York City television weatherman Adam Klotz, who works for Fox News, was beaten-up by a gang of teens on a New York City subway after coming home from watching the Giants Playoff Game  last night.  Klotz took to Instagram today to explain his attack which happened at around 1:15 am this morning near the 18th Street Station on the Number 1 train.

“Coming home last night from watching the Giants game at a bar, on the subway, this older gentleman was being hassled by this group of seven or eight teens,” Klotz explained through his Instagram account. “I was like, ‘Yo guys, cut that out!’ And they decided, ‘Alright, he’s not gonna’ get it, then you’re gonna’ get it’ and boy did they give it to me. They had me on the ground, my ribs are all kinds of bruised up too. They got their hits in.”

Klotz explained 5-6 teens were involved in the attack.

“I got X-rays. I’m OK. This is all going to heal. So, it’s all good,” Klotz said on Instagram. He was treated at Bellevue Hospital and was released.

Three of the teens were apprehended by the NYPD: two fifteen year-olds and one 17 year old. However, they were quickly released to their parents. A source with the NYPD said they were released without facing charges due to their age and the fact that the crime was an apparent misdemeanor.

“Where are the parents?” Klotz asked on Instagram, saying, “Parents, watch your children!”

New York City subways have become increasingly dangerous in recent years. Subway crime rose by 30% last year, more than the 22% increase in overall major crime across the city. However, violent crimes on the subway amount to only 2.6% of New York City’s total according to 2022 stats. Crime in New York City has surged this month compared to the same period last year ; rapes are up 16%, robberies and burglaries rose 9.4% and 5.5% respectively, and overall major crimes are up 3.4%.
