The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Philadelphia metro area and parts of southern New Jersey. Specifically, in Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Chester, Montgomery, Delaware, and Bucks counties, and in New Jersey in Camden, Gloucester, and Burlington counties are under a Winter Storm Warning through 1pm on Sunday.
“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions,” the National Weather Service warns. They add, “If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.”

A widespread 2-4″ snowfall is likely across eastern Pennsylvania, northeastern Virginia, eastern Maryland, Delaware, and southeastern New England including Long Island. Some areas could see 3-6″, especially over portions of central and southern New Jersey where the heaviest snowfall is expected.
Snow will begin this evening and wrap up tomorrow morning. A stray snow shower or flurry is possible during the day tomorrow as a much colder air mass gets settled over the northeast.
