Scientists Track Radioactive Dangers after Russian Attack Chernobyl Plant in Ukraine

In maps produced by IRSN, a French organization that contributes to the the safety of nuclear facilities and provides radiological monitoring for portions of Europe, showed how a radioactive cloud quickly spread over Europe in the days after the 1986 Chernobyl explosion. Europeans only became aware of the nuclear disaster in the Ukraine after elevated radiation levels were discovered in Europe. Image: IRSN
