To help out with hurricane survivors from an incredibly busy 2017 Atlantic Hurricane season that produced Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, Weatherboy launched a fundraiser event on September 29. The effort had two parts: a Facebook \ campaign, in which $0.25 was donated for every like/share to key charities, and a Weatherboy attire promotion through CustomInk, where proceeds from the sales of hoodies, sweatshirts, and t-shirts were donated to the Hurricane Relief Fund of the American Salvation Army.
Sweatshirts, t-shirts, and hoodies were shipped this week; most people who ordered through the promotion should get them no later than Thanksgiving.
For the like/share campaign, Weatherboy donated an additional total of $1,000 to the designated charities. Recipients included The Greater Houston Community Organization, which helped Hurricane Harvey survivors in Texas, The Humane Society of the United States, which helped displaced pets and other animals caught in the path of these storms, Americares and their hurricane relief efforts, and World Vision, which will target funds to children in need in storm-hit areas. And through their other corporate relationships and matches, World Vision was able to increase the value of the Weatherboy contribution to their charity to $2,000.
It is never too late to help. You too can make contributions direct to these organizations here:
