The National Weather Service is issuing another round of Dense Fog Advisories tonight for potentially hazardous conditions for portions of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. The advisories begin tonight and extend to the morning hours tomorrow.
A Dense Fog Advisory is issued when fog is expected to reduce the visibility down to 1/4 mile or less. With such low visibility, driving can become dangerous. The National Weather Service cautions, “Take extra caution when on the road or avoid driving if possible.”
For now, Dense Fog Advisories are in effect in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties in Delaware, Cecil,Queen Anne’s, Talbot, and Caroline counties in Maryland, Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Salem, Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, Ocean, Cumberland, Atlantic, and Cape May counties in New Jersey, Delaware, Philadelphia, Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks counties in Pennsylvania, and Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket counties of Massachusetts, and Block Island, Rhode Island.
A Dense Fog Advisory is also up for mariners across the entire south shore of Long Island, including the waters south of New York City.
